Offinso College of Education has successfully held its 19th Matriculation Ceremony for the 2025/2026 academic year on 5th March 2026, formally welcoming newly admitted students into the college community and the teaching profession. The ceremony was led by the Principal, Very Rev. Dr. J. Nkyi Asamoah, who delivered the matriculation address.
The event was attended by the Chair of the Governing Council and Special Guest of Honour, Rt. Rev. Sampson Obeng Adjei, representatives from the college’s affiliating institution, University of Cape Coast, management members, staff, parents, guardians, invited guests, and the leadership of the Students’ Representative Council.

In his address, the Principal congratulated the fresh students and reminded them that admission into Offinso College of Education marks the beginning of their journey into the noble teaching profession. He encouraged them to uphold discipline, integrity, and academic excellence as they begin their training as future teachers.
Presenting the admission statistics, the Principal disclosed that 2,837 qualified applicants applied for admission, but only 365 students were admitted in accordance with the quota approved by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission. The admitted students comprise 145 males and 220 females, reflecting the college’s commitment to promoting gender balance in teacher education.

Addressing the matriculants, the Council Chair and Guest of Honour, Rt. Rev. Sampson Obeng Adjei, advised the students to cultivate virtues that will guide them throughout their training and professional lives. He urged them to be self-disciplined, trustworthy, truthful, obedient, and committed to the institution and the nation, emphasizing that these values are essential for responsible leadership and effective teaching.

The Principal also expressed appreciation to parents and guardians for entrusting their wards to the institution and assured them of the college’s commitment to providing a supportive learning environment.
Concluding the ceremony, the fresh students were officially declared duly matriculated members of Offinso College of Education for the 2025/2026 academic year, marking the beginning of their academic and professional journey in teacher education.
