OFFINSO COLLEGE OF EDUCATION HOLDS PRINCIPAL’S EXCELLENCE AWARDS CEREMONY TO HONOUR ITS EXCEPTIONAL LEVEL 100 AND 400 STUDENTS The Offinso College of Education (OFCE) management hosted an event to recognize its top level 100 and level 400 students. The ceremony was the third of its sort; similar ones were done in the previous semester for the levels 200 and 300 students. There were awards given to 117 students in all. The Students and Staff (Teaching and Non-Teachng) of Offinso College of Education have presented an amount of six thousand Ghana cedis (GHC 6,000) to a student of the College whose son was hit by his school bus and was seriously injured. The Students and the Staff of the College Community were touched by the pronouncement by the medical officers that the child was to undergo a surgery which would involve a huge sum of money. For the first time in the history of Offinso College of Education, a maiden Principal’s Awards Ceremony has been organized for forty-one (41) Level 200 students. At a colourful and well-attended ceremony which was graced by most of the Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff of the College, the Executives of the Students’ Representative Council and students from Level 100 and 200 who are currently in the College. The Offinso College of Education was established in February, 1955 by the Gold Coast District of the Methodist Church, Ghana. The College was named Offinso Traning College, established purposefully to train women catechists for the church.  The College traces its history from Mr. Andrews Krakye Denteh who was a Tutor at Wesley College in Kumasi but hailed from Asamankama - Offinso.  The College started with thirty – two (32) females for the Two - Year Teacher's Certificate "B" and had the Principal Miss Dorothy M. Turnbull, and three other female Tutors as the only Tutorial Staff assisted by one main…
